Intel Warning On Potential Terror Attack: Uttar Pradesh Plans Civil Defense Drill Ahead Of Republic Day

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: The Uttar Pradesh government has planned to conduct a special ‘Lights Off – Alert On’ mock drill, featuring two-minute siren tests, blackouts in key areas, and hands-on practice with first aid, fire fighting, and evacuations across all 75 districts.

Principal Secretary Sanyukta Samddar has tasked district officials to coordinate ahead of Republic Day on January 26, coinciding with Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Jayanti and Uttar Pradesh Divas-2026.

The development comes amid warning from intelligence agencies that Khalistani terrorist organizations and Bangladesh-based terror outfits may attempt to target Delhi and several other cities across the country.

Intelligence warnings highlight potential threats from Khalistani groups and Bangladesh-based outfits possibly using Punjab gangsters, news agency ANI reported citing intelligence sources.

The mock drill will be held in Uttar Pradesh on January 23 and will include a blackout and siren testing.
