London, United Kingdom: On Sunday, a man caused a disturbance on an Easyjet flight from London Luton to Glasgow Airport in the UK. The man allegedly shouted religious slogans ‘Allahu Akbar’ while threatening that he was going to bomb the plane. He was also heard chanting ‘Death to America,’ and ‘Death to Trump’ while shouting the religious slogans.

Notably, officials detained the person and sent him to court, BBC reported, citing sources. The man, is identified as Abhay Devdas Nayak, a 41-year-old Indian national, who has been charged with relevant sanctions after the flight landed at the destination. The incident occurred on July 27 aboard easyJet Flight EZY609.

Nayak does not face any terrorism charges, as per reports, after the counter-terror police’s initial assessment of video footage of the incident. He was, however, charged with endangering the safety of an aircraft, under the UK’s Air Navigation Order and assault. When he appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court on 29 July, where he made no plea.

The video of the incident, shared by fact-checker and Alt News co-founder, Muhammed Zubair showed the man chanting ‘Death to America,’ and ‘Death to Trump,’ while repeatedly chanting religious slogans ‘Allahu Akbar’ – an Arabic phrase meaning “God is greatest”.

Following the chant and sloganeering, two men attacked Nayak and grounded him to the floor of the plane, and then the man was remanded in custody. He will be produced before the court again next week, the report said.

However, the use of Islamic chant, ‘Allahu Akbar’ by Nayak has draw netizens attention, especially the accused appears to be unlikely to be a Muslim.
