"A Regular Prayer": Zipline Operator's Father After NIA Picks His Son Over Pahalgam Attack Video

Jammu And Kashmir: After a new video of the Pahalgam terrorist attack emerged online, showing a zipline operator, Muzamil Ahmed Kumhar, chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has reportedly picked up the man for questioning. The agency, which is currently investigating the terror attack that killed 26 people last week, are purportedly examining if Muzamil has link with the gruesome incident.

In a self-video shot by Rishi Bhatt, a tourist from Ahmedabad, Muzamil was heard chanting ‘Allahu Akbar’ thrice and Bismillah before kickstarting the zipline ride on the day of the deadly terror attack.

Speaking to Reporter TV, Muzamil’s father asserted that his son had no link with the terrorist. ‘Allahu Akbar’ is a regular prayer, and it is recited while doing every activity. “There is no strangeness in reciting the prayer,” the father said.

“We are Muslims and even if the storm comes, we will say ‘Allahu Akbar’. If we do some work, we will say ‘Allahu Akbar’. What is in it?,” the father added.

Muzami was picked up by police on April 23, a day after the attack, and released on Monday and then picked up again by police in the evening. Muzamil’s brother Mukhtar Ahmed says his brother has been working on the zipline for the last three years, noting that he returned home and was very scared on the day of the terror attack.

Talking about the video that showed Muzamil chanting ‘Allahu Akbar,’ Mukhtar said, “If you see the video, he himself does not know that the terror attack is taking place,” The New Indian Express quoted. The brother said that Muzamil is releasing the tourist’s zipline because he himself does not know of the attack.

Following the terrorist attack, authorities have launched a massive manhunt to track down the attackers in Baisaran and its adjoining forest areas, and police have reportedly identified three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists, including two Pakistanis and one local, in connection with the incident.
