
NIA Registers 301 Cases In 5 Years: Home Ministry
New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered 301 cases in the last five years, the Central government told the Parliament on Wednesday (August 6). In a written response to the question raised by TMC MP Sagarika Ghose, Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai provided this information.
“NIA has filed chargesheet in 301 cases from 2020 to 2025 (till 29.07.2025),” the Minister said.

The Minister also added information on the conviction rate of cases investigated by the NIA over the past five years. The central anti-terror agency has registered a remarkable conviction rate of 97.08%, the government said in the response. This year, as of July 29, conviction rate marked at 91.67%, while in 2024, NIA had secured 100% conviction rate.
Details on the state-wise breakup of total cases registered by the federal investigative agency over the last five years were also provided. According to the data, states like Assam, Jammu and Kashmir, and Punjab top the list of cases in 2025 (till 29.07.2025).

In another reply, Rai disclosed that the NIA has confiscated or attached properties totaling ₹114.11 crore, the amount of ₹29,31,500 has been successfully recovered from those who were convicted.
