Kannada Actor Nagabhushana Arrested After Bengaluru Car Crash Kills Woman, Injures Her Husband (mage: instagram/dr.bhushana)

Karnataka police arrested film actor Nagabhushana SS on Sunday after the car driven by him hit a couple and caused death of a 48-year-old woman. The 58-year-old husband was critically injured and is under treatment.

Popular Kannada actor Mr Nagabhushan ran into the couple after hitting an electric pole, NDTV quoted the police.

The incident took place on Saturday night, September 30, around 9:45 pm on Vasantnagar main road in Bengaluru. The couple, Krishna B and his wife Prema S, were walking on the footpath when the accused, driving his car from Uttarahalli towards Konanakunte Cross, allegedly knocked them down.

The woman lost her life and her husband, who was seriously injured was taken to Fortis Hospital in Bannerghatta area. However, it is reported that Mr Nagabhushana himself took the couple to the hospital.

A case was registered by the victim”s son Partha.  “I work at a company and my parents stay with me. On September 30 around 10 pm I was on Kanakapura road when I got a call from a person staying in my apartment. He told me that my parents have met with an accident. They said that a car hit them both”, Hindustan Times quoted Mr Partha.

“I went to the hospital. The doctors said that my mother”s face and head were severely injured. She died on her way to the hospital”, Mr Partha added in the complaint given to police.

The car has been seized by the police and an investigation is underway.

Nagabhushana is a Kannada film actor who made his debut with 2018 release Sankashta Kara Ganapathi. He acted in movies like Kausalya Supraja Rama, Daredevil Mustafa, Badava Raskel, Ikkat and many more. He won the 10th SIIMA (South Indian International Movie Awards) in the category of best Kannada debut actor for the movie Ikkat.
