Kerala Court Sentences Bihar Man To 72 Years Rigorous Imprisonment For Raping 5-Year-old Girl
Kochi, Kerala: A Kerala court recently awarded 72 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 1.9 lakh for sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl in 2025.
The man, a Bihar resident named Nazir Miya, allegedly lured the girl offering sweets and then rapped her. The incident occurred on January 17, 2025. The 55-year-old Muzaffarpur native was working as a security staff member at a company located at Kottachira in Odakkali under the Kuruppampady police station limits, The New Indian Express reported.

The victim was the five-year-old daughter of another migrant worker. The court convicted the man in the case lodged by the child’s parents. The court awarded punishment under five sections, sentencing the convicted man to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and fining Rs 50,000 each under three sections.
The accused has been shifted to Viyyur Central Jail after the conviction. Kuruppampady police had registered a case based on the victim’s parents’ complaint.
