Sahibganj, Jharkhand: Annoyed by the frequent torture by a young man, a woman from Radhanagar in Sahibganj district, Jharkhand, electrocuted the accused to death on Saturday. The deceased, Raju Mandal, who is from the same village, used to barge into the woman’s house and molest her daughter. He had also walked away taking the household things, according to the villagers, The New Indian Express reports.

Though the women complained to the villagers, none of them took it seriously. Frustrated by the frequent torture, the woman determined to confront the threat and made a plan to kill the torturer. The woman, along with her daughter, brought an electric wire, removed the insulation, and laid the exposed wire in front of their house.

When Mandal, as usual, tried to barge into the victim’s house in an intoxicated state and unaware of the bare wire in front of the door on Saturday night, he got electrocuted and soon died on the spot. After the incident, police arrested both the mother and her daughter. While the mother has been sent to jail, the daughter has been shifted to a juvenile home in Dumka. The police had recovered evidences including five meters of wire wrapped in bamboo and one meter of copper wire from the woman’s house.

Officer in charge of the Radhanagar police station, Nitesh Pandey, said that they arrested the mother-daughter duo on the basis of evidence collected from the woman’s house. According to Sahibganj Superintendent of Police (SP), the deceased was mentally disturbed and used to intrude into people’s houses.

Since the mother-daughter duo killed the man under proper planning, they were arrested, the SP added.
