PM Modi Holds Bilateral Meeting with UK PM Rishi Sunak

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral meeting with UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on the sidelines of G20 Summit at Bharath Mandapam in Pragati Maidan, venue for G20 Summit. The leaders are expected to talk about free trade deal between India and UK. Earlier, Mr. Modi and Mr. Sunak warmly greeted each other with ‘Namaste’.

“Both Modi ji and are keen to see a comprehensive and ambitious trade deal concluded between our countries….Trade deal always take time, they need to work for both countries. Although we have made enormous progress there is still hard work to go,” Mr. Sunak said to ANI.

Speaking on his visit to India, Mr. Sunak said he is hugely proud of his Indian roots and connections to India. He further added that he is referred to as son-in-law of India as his wife, Akshata Murthy, is an Indian.

Upon arriving India Mr. Sunak was received by Union Minister of State Ashwini Choubey from the Airport on Friday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also welcomed other world leaders including US President Joe Biden.
