Powerful Earthquake Tremor Felt In Kolkata; Panicked Residents Ran To Open Spaces
Kolkata, West Bengal: Buildings and offices in Kolkata was evacuated following a powerful jolt due to an earthquake of magnitude 4.9 in the city, triggering panic among the residents.
Following the strong tremor, people came running out of buildings including homes, offices and schools after the earthquake struck Bangladesh reached the city. Several people ran outside their apartment and homes and found shelter in open areas.

Union Minister Sukanta Majumdar was addressing a gathering when the earthquake struck Kolkata, and following the tremor, the minster left the venue, as per video shared by news agency IANS.
