Prime Minister And Home Minister Wish National Security Guard On Its 39th Raising Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi proffered “best wishes” to the National Security Guard (NSG) personnel on the occasion of the 39th Raising Day of the Force. Taking to X (formerly twitter), Mr. Modi wrote that on the special occasion pf the Raising Day, he “laud all the brave men of the force” for firmly establishing themselves as a “distinguished force, safeguarding us from various threats”.

Home Minister, Amit Shah also accentuated his heartfelt congratulation to the force for “standing true to its motto Sarvatra Sarvotta Suraksha” and for staying as “nation’s bulwark of security against perils”. The Home Affairs Minister has also commemorated the “supreme sacrifice” done by the soldiers of the force who proved their “immaculate professionalism, love for the motherland and steely courage with their lives”.

Taking to the official X account of National Security Guard , IPS Director General, Shri M. A. Ganapathy has also conveyed his wishes to the “brave NSG men” and called for renewing the “the Dedication to the service of our Nation”.

The National Security Guard, commonly know as Black Cats was founded in October 16, 1948. The counter-terrorism unit of India works under the Minitstry of Home Affairs. The National Security Guard is formed during the Operation Blue Star – an operation by the Indian Armed Force against the Sikh militant group including Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala at the Golden Temple.

The “Blackcats” are usually known as “New Delhi’s go-to response force in worst case scenarios”. It is a “federal contingency deployment force” that usually comes forth and intervenes at the time of “serious terrorist attacks”.
