The National Security Guard, commonly know as Black Cats was founded in October 16, 1948. The counter-terrorism unit of India works under the Minitstry of Home Affairs. The National Security Guard is formed during the Operation Blue Star – an operation by the Indian Armed Force against the Sikh militant group including Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala at the Golden Temple.
The “Blackcats” are usually known as “New Delhi’s go-to response force in worst case scenarios”. It is a “federal contingency deployment force” that usually comes forth and intervenes at the time of “serious terrorist attacks”.
