Rupnagar, Punjab: Continuing the busting of an espionage network linked to Pakistan, Punjab Police on Wednesday arrested another YouTuber, Jasbir Singh, a resident of Rupnagar for allegedly associating with a spying network.

In a social media post, Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said the State Special Operations Cell, Mohali, acted swiftly on actionable intelligence and unearthed a critical espionage network linked to Jasbir Singh, who runs a YouTube channel named Jaan Mahal.

The DGP said that police found Jasbir Singh’s YouTube channel had allegedly associated with Pakistani Intelligence Operative (PIO) Shakir alias Jutt Randhawa, a part of a terror-backed espionage network.

The police alleged that the accused YouTuber maintained close contact with Haryana-based YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, who was arrested last month for spying for Pakistan. Malhotra, a travel content creator, is currently in judicial custody in espionage charges, and she allegedly communicated with Pakistan handlers using encrypted communication apps.

He also had contact with Ehsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish, a Pakistani national and expelled Pak High Commission official declaring him as persona non grata last month. Ehsan-ur-Rahim had close link with Malhotra.

“Investigations have revealed that Jasbir attended the Pakistan National Day event in Delhi at Danish’s invitation, where he met Pakistani Army officials and vloggers,” the official stated, underlining that Jasbir Singh made Pakistan trips on three occasions – 2020, 2021, 2024 – and that his electronic devices contained multiple Pakistan-based numbers, which are now under detailed forensic scrutiny.

The police further pointed out that Jasbir Singh attempted to erase all traces of his communications with these PIOs to avoid detection, after YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra’s arrest.

Unearthed a significant espionage network allegedly linked to Pakistan-based handlers and terror outfits, leading to the arrest of Jasbir Singh, a resident of Rupnagar who operates a YouTube channel named Jaan Mahal.

Punjab director general of police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Acting swiftly on actionable intelligence, SSOC Mohali has unearthed a critical espionage network linked to Jasbir Singh, a resident of Village Mahlan, Rupnagar.

The DGP added that the probe is underway to dismantle the broader espionage-terror network and identify all collaborators in the state. “Punjab Police reaffirms its unwavering commitment to safeguarding national security and neutralizing all threats posed by such anti-national elements,” Gaurav Yadav wrote on X.
