A ragpicker came across bundles of US dollars in a pile of garbage in Bengaluru on Friday. There were 23 bundles carrying US dollars, with value over Rs 25 crore in Indian currency.

Salman Sheikh was the name of the ragpicker, who, after finding the bundles, handed it over to his boss, Bappa, on November 5. Bappa, there upon called social activist Kali Mullah, who, in turn, contacted the police Commissioner. Following that, Bengaluru Police Commissioner, B Dayananda called for them. Hebbal Police station launched the investigation.

The notes are marked with chemical, therefore, police suspects that it is the work of gangs engaged in Black Dollar Scam.

Meanwhile, the notes have been sent to the Reserve Bank Of India to find out if they are fake or real.
