Marking the start of his three nation European visit, senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi attended a round table conference with members of the European Parliament at the European Parliament in Brussels, Belgium on Thursday.
Human rights situation in Manipur was among several topics discussed the meeting, India Today reported by quoting sources. This developement is significant as the European Parliament adopted a resolution entitled ‘India, the situation in Manipur’ in July.
However, the Congress leader said the discussion was focused on topics such as geo-politics, climate change and trade relations.

The meeting was co-hosted by members of the European Parliament Alviina Alametsa and Pierre Larrouturou.
According to reports, Mr Gandhi has also attended an event organised by civil society organisations and an interaction over dinner with the Belgium-based Indian diaspora.
