Karnataka BJP MLA Bharat Shetty on Monday stoked a major controversy by saying that the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi should be locked inside the Parliament and slapped for his ‘anti-Hindu remarks’. It was while speaking at a protest held by BJP against Rahul Gandhi’s ‘violent Hindu’ remark, Mangalore North MLA made this provocative statement.
“LoP Rahul Gandhi should be locked up and slapped inside Parliament. This act will lead to the filing of seven to eight FIRs. If LoP Rahul Gandhi comes to Mangaluru city, we will arrange the same for him,” Mangalore MLA said.

He said that Rahul Gandhi was holding a picture of the Hindu god Shiva, and he does not know if Lord Shiva opened his third eye, Opposition leader would turn into ashes. He has adopted an anti-Hindu policy; it makes clear that he is a mad man.
“He thinks that Hindus will quietly listen to whatever he says about them. If he ‘barks’ in Parliament, the local leaders will start wagging their tails here,” Shetty added.
He said that it is the duty of BJP to protect Hindu religion and institutions. The Congress started propagating that Hindus and Hindutva are different. Due to such leaders, he stated, Hindus will face danger in the future. They will create such situation where Hindus will not be able to get out of their house, BJP MLA added.

Shetty claimed that Rahul Gandhi will become a secular person when he visits Kerala, and will turn atheist in Tamil Nadu. And he becomes staunch Lord Shiva devotee when he comes to Gujarat. After receiving 99 seats in the Lok Sabha polls, Rahul Gandhi is asserting to have achieved a great deal, he said.
“Shivaji and Maharana Pratap were born in the Hindu community. We will take out weapons whenever there is a need. We know very well how to retaliate after worshipping the weapons. LoP Rahul Gandhi will be alright after a tight slap inside Parliament,” Bharat Shetty added.
