"Before 2014, We Had Sunk Into Depths Of Despair; Today...": PM Modi In Russia

During an event in Moscow, Russia, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Indian community, reflecting on India’s progress and transformation over the past decade.

Modi emphasized that before 2014, India was in a state of despair. However, today, the country is brimming with self-confidence, which he described as India’s greatest asset. He highlighted the significance of the recent T20 World Cup victory, stating that the journey to winning was a testament to the resilience and determination of India’s youth.

“Before 2014, we had sunk into the depths of despair. Today, the country is full of self-confidence and this is the biggest asset of India. You too must have celebrated the victory in the recent T20 World Cup…The real story of winning the World Cup is also the journey of victory,” Modi said.

Expressing gratitude to the attendees, Modi thanked them for their affection and for taking the time to be present. He mentioned that he did not come alone but brought with him the essence of Indian soil and the love of 140 crore countrymen.

Modi noted the significance of his interaction with the Indian diaspora in Moscow, marking his first engagement with them after coming to power for the third time. He recalled that exactly a month ago, he took the oath as Prime Minister and resolved to work with triple the strength in his third term.

He highlighted India’s achievements, mentioning the successful mission of Chandrayaan to a part of the Moon where no other country had reached. Modi also praised India for providing a reliable model of digital transactions and implementing excellent social sector policies to empower its citizens.

“Today India is that nation which send Chandrayaan at that part of the Moon, where no other country could reach. India is that country which is giving the most reliable model of digital transactions to the world. Today India is that country, which is empowering its citizens through excellent policies of social sector,” he said.

Modi pointed out the remarkable pace of development in India over the last decade, which has surprised the world. He remarked that visitors to India can clearly see the country’s transformation and reconstruction. He attributed this change to the trust India places in the capabilities of its 140 crore citizens and their collective resolve to make India a developed nation.

In his concluding remarks, Modi stressed the importance of self-belief and self-confidence as the first steps toward success. He reiterated that before 2014, India was in despair, but today, it is full of confidence. This transformation, according to Modi, is the nation’s greatest asset.
