The satirist, Shamita Yadav’s Instagram account was reportedly taken own. Yadav’s Instagram handle had about 78k followers. Responding to the incident, she posted a video on her X (formerly twitter), in which she criticized the “Andhbhakts” of Hindutva.
Yadav is famous for her satiric comebacks and roasting videos on social media platforms. Shamita Yadav, who is popularly known as the ‘Ranting gola’, is well known for her sharp criticism and comebacks on prominent political leaders, and celebrities’ remarks, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
She accused ‘Hindutva’ group for the suspension of her Instagram account. She said what an amusement it is that a 22-year-old girl’s content has made “your Hindutva soul weak”. She said her account was bound to get suspended, as she often spoke of the truth about the caretakers and preachers of “nakli dharam (false morality)”.
Yadav took a jab at the “Bharat”. She said we live in ‘Bharat’, where Sharjeel Imam – student activists who has completed four years in jail, for reportedly no particular reason – will celebrate his birthday in jail, the convicts in Bilkis Bano case will be welcomed with garland. She also mentioned that while Omer Khalid’s (student activist) bail plea will not be heard but Baba Ram Rahim, who was jailed for rape case will be let out.
She said she gets angry that the democracy in India is not allowing to practice Freedom of speech. She highlighted that she, who is a Hindu can’t speak her mind when “Modi Ji” preaches about “Man ki baath”.
The Ranting gola said her USP (unique selling point) is not her account but her content. She said her USP is her courage, which according the satirist, the “godhi media” has sold. She ended her video by saying that she will never stop now as her fear of getting her account suspended has ended.
Actor Prakash Raj, who is known for his loud criticism of Narendra Modi led BJP government, applauded the satirist. He reposted her post and said “more power to you”, and encourage her to “keep up” speaking.
