Talking about the impending Lok Sabha elections, actor-politician Prakash Raj said three political parties are after him to be their candidate and he has “switched off his phone”. The National Awards-winning actor who was an independent candidate in the Bengaluru Central Lok Sabha constituency was talking at the Kerala Literature Festival at Kozhikode on Saturday.
“They (the political parties who want him as their candidate) think me as a Modi-basher,” he commented the reason for the interest of political parties in him.
He added that it is really sad that political parties are finding it difficult to find a candidate for the elections
“I am not a self proclaimed Modi basher. I don’t do my Mann Ki Bath. I do our Mann Ki Bath,” the actor said.
Coming down heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, “PM Modi is not a strong leader but, he is a good actor; only actor in the country who knows where the cameras are, and also a pan-India star who knows how makeup works.”
“If a football match is going on you should know where the ball is. We all are beating around the bush. If someone is given power for more than 10 years, that person will fall in love with his voice,” he said while talking about the strategy to take on PM Modi-led NDA.
