Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should thank Shah Rukh Khan for the “expensive settlement” from the Qatari leaders in releasing the Navy veterans. Responding to PM Modi’s X post about his visit to Qatar, which he said, “will deepen India’s bilateral relations”, Swamy said it was Shah Rukh Khan’s intervention that helped.
PM Modi set off to his two days trip in UAE and Qatar, for inaugurating the first Hindu Mandir in the United Arab Emirates. He will then travel to Qatar to meet with Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Yesterday, Qatar has announced the release of eight Indian Navy veterans who has been awarded with death penalties over charges of espionage. Upon reaching India, the veterans expressed their gratitude to the Prime Minister for his intervention, which they said made their release possible.
The Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Vinay Mohan Kwarta also said that PM Modi “constantly supervised” the efforts of releasing the Navy veterans.
Now senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy said that the Prime Minister should take Shah Rukh Khan to Qatar with him. He said after the failure of India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and National Security Advisor (NSA) in persuading the Sheikhs of Qatar, it was Shah Rukh Khan’s intervention which helped.
Swamy said that PM Modi has “pleaded” with Khan to intervene to ensure the release of the Navy veterans. He said, “Modi pleaded with Khan to intervene, and thus got an expensive settlement from the Qatar Shiekhs to free our Naval officers”.
Modi should take Cinema star Sharuk Khan to Qatar with him since after MEA and NSA had failed to persuade the Shiekhs of Qatar, Modi pleaded with Khan to intervene , and thus got an expensive settlement from the Qatar Shiekhs to free our Naval officers.

Subramanian Swamy is known for his strong critical voice against PM Modi. The former Union Minister has earlier criticised Prime Minister Modi for not accepting the modified proposal of the Punjab Farmers. He said if the central government failed to fulfil the demands of the farmers, it “cannot expect for long to be happy”. He said, he has studied the demands from the farmers, and as an economist, he finds them good for India.
Why is Modi wilfully refusing to accept the modified proposal of Punjab farmers second time around? Modi cannot expect for long to be happy if increasingly the Sikh farmers are not given their due. I have studied farmers’ demand and as an economist I think them as good for India.
