Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav today joined Rahul Gandhi in his ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ in Bihar’s Sasaram. Embarking on its final leg in Bihar, the Yatra will enter Uttar Pradesh later today. Setting off from the party’s district office this morning, Gandhi’s entourage will traverse into UP’s Kaimur district by evening.
Yadav drove Gandhi in a red jeep as crowds cheered for the duo. This occasion marks their first joint appearance in Bihar since Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s departure from the Mahagathbandhan in the state to join the BJP-led NDA. His exit also dealt a blow to INDIA bloc which has been struggling to iron out issues among the political parties and failing to reach a consensus on seat sharing.
The former deputy chief minister of Bihar will join Gandhi in Kaimur, marking a significant moment of collaboration amid shifting political landscapes.
Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said, “Today is the 34th day of Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and Rahul Gandhi will have conversations with farmer leaders in Rohtas today. Today around 2:30 pm, Tejashwi Yadav and Rahul Gandhi will address a gathering in Kaimur and at around 5 pm, the yatra will enter Uttar Pradesh.”
At 4 pm, the Yatra will move into UP’s Chandauli and it will be in UP till February 25. There will be a two-day break on February 22 and 23.
Adding to the momentum, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will also join the Nyay Yatra in Chandauli.
The ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, which started in Manipur on January 14, is scheduled to cover 6,713 km in 67 days, passing through 110 districts in 15 states, before culminating in Mumbai on March 20. It aims to highlight the message of “nyay” (justice) while meeting the citizens of the country on the way.
