Vijay Takes Oath As Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Rahul Gandhi, Actor Trisha TVK Leaders Present
Chennai, Tamil Nadu: TVK Chief C Joseph Vijay has arrived at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, where he took oath as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu today, May 10. The oath-taking comes as TVK secured small parties’ support to reach the majority number to form a government amid constitutional deadlock.
Vijay’s party emerged victorious, being the single largest party, securing 108 seats in the 2026 state assembly elections, putting an end to almost six decades of alternating rule by the state’s two dominant Dravidian parties — DMK and AIADMK. However, TVK fell short of 118 majority to form a government.
