Karnataka Forms Panel To Organise Employment Fairs

Karnataka Government has formed a panel headed by the Sharan Prakash Patil, Minister of Medical Education and Skills Development, that aims to help unemployed youth to find jobs. The initiative comes after the successful launch of Yuva Nidhi Scheme in the state.

The committee expects to organise job fairs at state and district level in coordination with the major and small-scale industries in addition to the software companies. The government’s main motive behind the organisation of job melas is to make unemployed youth find jobs and become self-reliant. The panel plans to organise huge job fairs across the state in the coming days and prefer Kannadigas.

The official statement issued by the Minister’s office said, “Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has formed the job fair committee under the chairmanship of Minister Sharan Prakash Patil, who also led the successful mega event of Yuva Nidhi Scheme, recently”.

The hon’ble minister has already had talks about filling open positions in the public sector and creating jobs in the private sector with the relevant officials and other stakeholders. According to the official statement, “the unemployed youths in the rural areas are expected to get more job opportunities in the manufacturing, banking, IT, hospitality and other sectors through this job fair”.

The Karnataka Government Yuva Nidhi Scheme provide financial support to educated unemployed youth in the state. This offers economic security to the youth and reduce their dependency on others for financial needs. Under the scheme eligible beneficiaries will receive monthly financial assistance through Direct Bank Transfer (DBT) until they secure employment or for a maximum period of 2 years. Rs 3000 and 1500 will be given to Unemployed graduates and Diploma holders, respectively.
