UPPSC Receives Over 12 Lakh Applications For 7466 Assistant Teachers Posts
The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has received 12,36,253 applications for 7466 posts of assistant teacher in government schools, setting another record of disproportionate ratio of unemployment versus vacancies. The commission had invited applications for the LT Grade recruitment 2025 of assistant teachers in the trained graduate category. The recruitment is happening after a gap of seven years.
This recruitment has officially become the largest in UPPSC’s history of any recruitment drive. Earlier, the commission received such a large number of applications for the Review Officer/Assistant Review Officer (RO/ARO) recruitment in 2023, with 10.76 lakh applicants.

As per the recruitment notification, out of the 7,466 vacancies, 4,860 are reserved for men, 2525 are reserved for women, and 81 posts are set aside for the disabilities category. The recruitment covers 15 different subjects.
The application process took place from July to August 2025.
Also, Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has issued a notification inviting applications for the 1253 Assistant Professor vacancies for government degree colleges in UP. Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the given vacancies via the official website – uppsc.up.nic.in.
The last date for payment of the examination fee at the bank and the submission of the online application is October 6, 2025. Whereas, the last date for the correction or modification in the submitted online application is October 13, 2025.
The nature of the post-group is Gazaetted ‘A’ vacancies at Level-10, with the UGC pay scale ranging from 57700 (minimum) to 182400 (maximum).
