UPPSC Assistant Professor Recruitment 2025 Process Starts For 1253 Vacancies
The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has invited applications for the 1253 Assistant Professor vacancies for government degree colleges in UP. Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the given vacancies via the official website – uppsc.up.nic.in.
The last date for payment of the examination fee at the bank and the submission of the online application is October 6, 2025. Whereas, the last date for the correction or modification in the submitted online application is October 13, 2025.
The nature of the post-group is Gazaetted ‘A’ vacancies at Level-10, with the UGC pay scale ranging from 57700 (minimum) to 182400 (maximum).
The subject-wise and category-wise distribution of the seats is available in the detailed notification given on the official website. Notably, the number of vacancies may increase or decrease depending on the requirements.

The application fee for the unreserved category/EWS/OBC is Rs 125; for SC/ST candidates, the application fee is Rs 65, and PWD candidates are exempt from paying the application fee.
To apply for the assistant professor posts, a candidate must have a master’s degree with 55% marks or an equivalent grade along with the National Eligibility Test (NET) qualification conducted by the CSIR or UGC. PhD holders are exempted from the NET qualification. The candidate’s age limit must be 40 years, subject to category-wise relaxation.
The examination will be held in three different stages, including the Preliminary examination, the Main exam, and the Interview. The preliminary exam will be of an objective type and carries negative marking. The main exam will be a written test, followed by the interview or personality test. The final merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in the written test and the interview.
The date, time, and venue of the examination will be notified to the candidates through e-Admit cards.
The commission will issue the main forms to be filled out by those candidates who qualify for the preliminary examination.
