“Why Target Innocents?” Afghan Cricketer Allah Ghazanfar Reacts After Deadly Kabul Strike
Afghanistan cricketer Allah Ghazanfar has shared a heartfelt and emotional reaction following a deadly airstrike in Kabul, raising serious concerns over the impact of escalating tensions in the region.
The airstrike, described as one of the deadliest in recent times, reportedly hit a major drug rehabilitation centre in Afghanistan.
The facility, which catered to thousands of vulnerable individuals, was heavily damaged in the attack. Officials claimed that hundreds lost their lives, while many more were left injured.
While Afghan authorities strongly condemned the strike, Pakistan denied carrying out the attack, adding further tension to an already volatile situation.

Reacting to the incident, Ghazanfar questioned the motive behind targeting such a critical public facility.
He pointed out that the centre was a place where people struggling with addiction sought help, many of whom could not afford proper treatment elsewhere. “They don’t even have money for treatment, and now even that place is gone,” he said, expressing anguish over the loss of innocent lives.
He further warned that repeating past conflicts could have dangerous consequences, referencing Afghanistan’s long and painful history with war. His message carried a strong appeal for peace, urging global powers to take the situation seriously before it escalates further.
Significantly, Ghazanfar also mentioned India, calling it a “close friend” of Afghanistan.
He expressed hope for stronger dialogue and cooperation, not just between the two nations but across the international community. According to him, unity and communication are essential to prevent such tragedies in the future.
