ICC Threatens Pakistan With Sanctions Over Possible T20 World Cup Withdrawal
The International Cricket Council (ICC) is reportedly threatened Pakistan with potential sanctions if it decide not to participate in the T20 World Cup tournament.
The board has also conveyed its displeasure with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Mohsin Naqvi’s recent comments supporting Bangladesh, Indian Express reported citing unanimous sources.

The ICC had removed Bangladesh from the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 after they refused to play matches in India due to security concerns, despite no credible threats found in assessments. Scotland replaced Bangladesh joining Group C with England, West Indies, Italy, and Nepal, facing South Africa first on February 9 in Kolkata.
The potential threat include suspenson of all bilateral series, denial of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for foreign players in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), and exclusion from the Asia Cup, the report added.

However, amid the threat, Pakistan has reportedly released its team squad for the T20 world 2026.
