Gas Cylinder Explosion: Massive Blast Rocks Pakistan SC; At Least 15 Injured
Islamabad, Pakistan: A massive fire explosion hit Pakistan’s Supreme Court on Tuesday, leaving at least 15 people injured. The blast reportedly occurred due to a gas cylinder explosion near an air conditioning (AC) plant in the basement of the country’s top court, as per the preliminary findings.
The incident occurred when the maintenance work was underway. Video surfaced online shows the damage to the Supreme Court building.

As per reports, some of the injured are reported to be in critical conditions. Pakistan’s Bomb Disposal Squad also arrived at the site to gather evidence and investigate the cause of the explosion.
The court building reportedly endured damages in the fire as the video from the site shows broken furniture and glasses at the Bar Association’s reception area.

The Courtroom No 6 also suffered structural damages at the time of the incident. The incident was occurred at a time when Justice Ali Baqar Najafi and Justice Malik Shahzad were presiding over a case.
After the tremor from the gas plant, rescue officials quickly evacuated lawyers and the court staff to the safe zones outside the Supreme Court premises.
