Abdul Rahim Gets Exit Clearance After 20-Year Saudi Jail Term, Likely To Reach Kerala Soon

Kozhikode, Kerala: Kerala man, Abdul Rahim, has reportedly received exit clearance from Saudi Arabia jail after 20 years. The Kozhikode native is expected to reach Kerala soon, Asianet News reported.  jail term ended today, May 26, after being imprisoned and sentenced to death in 2006 for the murder of the 14-year-old differently-abled son of his employer.

Rahim would set out his journey to Kerala after completing immigration formalities. With exit visa stamped, Rahim might reach Kerala before Eid Al Adha. The Saudi court had reduced the death sentence to 20 years jail term after the family of the victim agreed for Dia (blood money), which was crowdfunded by Keralites.
