Kerala Rainfall: Death Toll Reaches 20 As Heavy Rainfall Continues
Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala: Kerala has been witnessing heavy torrential downpour for the last few days, taking the total death toll to at least 20 from the natural calamities. Schools and colleges remained shut in several districts of the state in Tuesday, August 4.
Parts of the state is grappling with landslide, floods, mudslide and subsequent power disruption, widespread damage and casualties as Rain appears unrelenting.

The government has intensified rescue and relief efforts and established several rehabilitation centres for the affected families. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), the spell of intense rainfall is far from over.
