Mappila Sangeetha Academy Honours Excellence Across Fields
Kozhikode, Kerala: The Akhila Kerala Mappila Sangeetha Academy presented its annual awards to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding talent in diverse fields. The honours were distributed during the 34th anniversary celebrations held at the Town Hall, inaugurated by Mayor O. Sadasivan, who also conferred the awards.
Among the recipients, music composer Shaan Rahman received the Baburaj Award, while poet and architect Vineesh Vidhyadharan was honoured with the P. Bhaskaran Award. Social worker Kabir Rahman and environmental activist Reji Jomy were jointly recognised with the A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Award.
Dancer and teacher Suvarna Chandrath received the Monisha Award, while Mappila song singer Thanha Ummer was selected for the Moyinkutty Vaidyar Youth Talent Award. Writer Suma Pallipram was honoured with the U.A. Khader Award.
The function was presided over by P. A. Hamsa. Speakers included Dr. Rahmathulla, Managing Director of Kottakkal Alikutties Hospital, Academy Treasurer T. M. Saleem, State General Secretary Nelliode Basheer, and others such as Aneesa Subaida, Reyhana Basheer, and Ashraf Vellankal.
