Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will begin the Lok Sabha election campaign from the national capital on Friday. The political campaigning will be launched by AAP supremo and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann in the party headquarters in the presence of party leaders, declared candidates and workers of AAP. The party has started to formulate strategies for the election campaign, aiming various issues, and even underlining the BJP”s decision to drop sitting MPs.

Last month, AAP and Congress agreed upon a 4:3 seat-sharing formula for Delhi and decided to jointly fight in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. As per the seat-sharing arrangement, in the seven seats,  AAP will content in four and the remaining three will be contested by Congress. Thereby, AAP will field candidates in New Delhi, West Delhi, South Delhi and East Delhi and the grand old party will contest from Chandni Chowk, North East and North West Delhi.

Similarly, both parties have reached seating arrangement in Chandigarh, Goa, Gujarat, and Haryana as well. However, in Punjab, AAP and Congress have reached consensus to face election independently.

On Thursday, Arvind Kejriwal”s Delhi government has announced that the power subsidy scheme in the national capital has been extended to March 31 2025.

On X, congratulating people of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal wrote: “I congratulate the people of Delhi very much. Your 24 hours electricity (zero power cut) and free electricity has been extended till 31st March 2025. This also includes free electricity for the lawyers” chambers.”

“Many people had doubts about electricity subsidy – will they get it next year or not? Let me tell you that these people tried their best to stop it. But your son got this work done also,” he added.

Continuing further, the AAP national convenor stated that the 24-hour power supply and free electricity are available only in Delhi and Punjab.
