BJP Fields Rodmal Nagar In Rajgarh Constituency For Third Consecutive Term

As the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced its first list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the party has given ticket to Rodmal Nagar for the third consecutive time for Madhya Pradesh’s Rajgarh constituency. A resident of Khujner in Madhya Pradesh, Mr Rodmal Nagar joined the politics by being part of the RSS since his early times. He has completed his graduation from his hometown.

Mr Rodmal Nagar was first fielded in the 2014 Lok Sabha election, and he in his debut defeated the then Congress sitting MP Narayan Singh Amlabe with a substantial majority. The BJP leader then retained the seat for another term in the 2019 election. The constituency had been one of the tightly contested seats between the Congress and the BJP till 2014, and since then there has been a significant surge in the vote share for the saffron party, much to the waves created the Prime Minister Modi.

During the 2014 general election, Mr Rodmal Nagar secured 59 per cent of the votes while the congress trailed behind with 36 per cent votes. In 2019, Mr Rodmal Nagar retained the seat with a bigger majority, accumulating more than eight lakh votes, which was more than double the Congress candidate Mona Sustani’s vote share.

Mr Rodmal Nagar had in his debut secured a majority of more than two lakhs. However, the BJP has for another term expressed its confidence in the sitting MP, given his performance and popularity in the constituency. The 63-year-old Rodmal Nagar also marks history by being the third consecutive candidate of the party in its history in the Rajgarh constituency.
