In an alleged inside plot hatched by two employees of a transport company in Kishangarh, around six or eight people robbed Rs 3.9 crore from the company’s locker at gunpoint. The police have recovered at least 1.15 crore from the looted amount after arresting six accused in the case on Thursday.

The robbery was allegedly planned by two staffers, Upender Kumar, 36, who used to work as a truck driver, and Kailash Chauhan, 48, who work as a car driver for the company. They plotted the robbery because of their resentment with the management for not providing pay hike or increment in their work.

The incident happened on July 11, and at least eight masked individuals armed with knives and guns barged into the firm’s office and snatched the cash. Notably, as per the initial statement from the officer manager, around Rs 30 lakh was robbed, which later proved to be Rs 3.9 crore upon further examination.

The police identified the accused using CCTV footage as they found possible routes the men had taken to arrive and leave the office premises. The police found two cars linked to a person, Pramod Tomar (33), whose location was in Kishan Ganj during the time of the robbery. Police then questioned Tomar after arresting him from Madya Pradesh.

Tomar, during the investigation, revealed the names of other associates with whom he hatched the crime based on inputs provided by Upender and Kailash, the company’s employees. Due to the fear of retaliation, they held arms with them during the robbery, Indian Express reported quoting police.
