Fact Check - Did Rahul Gandhi Stop Talking About Ambani-Adani As Claimed By Modi

On Wednesday, while attending a public rally in Telangana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi surprisingly asked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi why he stopped talking about Ambani and Adani all of a sudden. The Prime Minister then went on alleging that as the election was announced, the Wayanad MP stopped abusing the Ambani and Adani, and urged the people to ask Congress how many lakh the party received from the duo.

The Congress leader has been vocal about the alleged secret link between Prime Minister and the country”s richest businessmen and has been accusing Narendra Modi of helping the industrial giants.

As Prime Minister Modi claims Rahul Gandhi stopped mentioning Adani and Ambani”s alleged proximity with him, the article is looking into whether the Congress leader actually stopped targeting the businessmen

Notably, proving the Prime Minister”s remark as false, the Congress leader, in a recent video, was heard attacking Prime Minister Modi, referring to his nexus with Adani. Rahul Gandhi was talking about the Congress government”s promise of cancelling the Agnipath Scheme scheme if elected to power at the centre in the video he posted on his Instagram handle four days ago.

After the Prime Minister”s statement suggesting a “secret deal between Adani, Ambani and Congress, the Wayanad MP hit back, asking the Prime Minister to send central agencies such as CBI, and ED to them (Ambani and Adani) and conduct a thorough investigation immediately.

“Do Adani-Ambani give you money filled in tempo? Is this your personal experience? Do one thing- send CBI, and ED to them. Get a thorough investigation done, don”t panic,” Rahul Gandhi said in a video shared by the Congress on its X handle.

Rahul Gandhi has been alleging crony capitalism against the Prime Minister Modi-led government, accusing him of helping the big industrialists through many deals, including the Rafale purchase. The Congress leader has shown a photo of the Prime Minister with Ambani at the industrialist”s aircraft. The Congress leader had also alleged that the Adani Group over-invoiced coal imports, leading to a hike in power tariffs.

Rahul Gandhi has also raised the concern that the government was trying to block his attempts to talk about Adani in parliament, turning off his microphones when he spoke about the industrialists.
