Mahua Moitra, a vocal leader of the Trinamool Congress and Member of Parliament, hit out at the BJP on Saturday for using the Chandrayaan 3 achievement for political campaign. She alleged that the BJP was trying to politicise the scientific achievement and was using it to whip up nationalistic frenzy ahead of the 2024 general elections.

“ISRO is now BJP’s 2024 campaign tool. Every mission will be used to whip up nationalistic frenzy before elections,” former investment banker turned politician said in an X (formerly Twitter) post.

The Krishnanagar MP also said the “Bhakt & troll army” is working 24×7 to package decades of Indian scientific research as “Modi Hai Toh Mumkin Hai magic”.

“Wake up, India. And no, I am not anti-national,” she added.

Mahua Moitra’s comments have come after Prime Minister Modi held a roadshow in Bengaluru before he met ISRO scientists who spearheaded the successful Chandrayaan 3 mission.
