JD(S) Leader H D Kumaraswamy Wins From Mandya Constituency

Former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has emerged victorious from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency. To the party’s relief, as JD(S)’s Prajwal Revanna lost the lone seat from Hassan, his father won with a considerable majority of more than two lakh.

The Congress candidate Venkataramane Gowda  also known as star Chandra lost against the JD(S) big face. JD(S) is contesting in alliance with the BJP in the state. In 2019, independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh emerged victorious against the JD(S) candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy by a margin of over one lakh.

The seat was one of the Congress’ eye as the constituency was known for the rivalry between the Congress and the JD(S). The grand old party fielded star chandru to capture the seat.

Going by the national number, BJP-led NDA is leading in 294 seats while the INDIA bloc is trailing behind in 232 seats.
