As the Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) bloc members held deliberations on taking on PM Modi-led NDA in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, BJP criticized the grouping”s motive and said it did not offer any vision or roadmap or strategy for the development and upliftment of the poor in the country. “Most importantly,” while addressing a press conference, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said, from the alliance, there was “not even an acknowledgement about the threat to India from terrorism, radicalisation and secessionist forces.”
The opposition alliance on Friday declared that they will jointly contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections ‘as far as possible’, against PM Modi-led NDA alliance. They also passed a resolution on the decision and formed a 13-member coordination committee jointly at the INDIA Mumbai meeting on Friday.
While addressing a press conference after the meeting, Congress leader said the formation will fight the BJP”s “nexus of corruption” after naming the recent controversies surrounding billionnaire industrialist Gautam Adani and his group of companies.
“In the third meeting of the so-called alliance, there was no vision for development of India, no roadmap for the upliftment of poor, no strategy to address concerns of the farmers or women,” the BJP leader said.
“Rahul Gandhi will himself make India “Congress Mukt” if he continues to abuse patriots like Savarkar and bat for China,” he added.
“Everyone knows about PM Modi”s popularity in the country and across the world but look at the kind of words they (opposition parties) use for him,” the BJP leader while talking about the INDIA alliance’s criticism of PM Modi.
In a retort to Rahul Gandhi”s corruption allegations against the NDA government, Mr Prasad said “The people of I.N.D.I.A alliance are very much familiar with the idea of give-and-take. Their entire politics is based on give-and-take. The entire 2G scam was give-and-take, entire coal scam was give-and-take, entire Commonwealth Scam was give-and-take.”
