Prashant Kishor Not Working For TMC…: Mamata Banerjee After Poll Strategist’s Bengal Prediction

Edited by Timeline News Desk

After election strategist Prashant Kishor predicted a potential shift in West Bengal’s electoral politics, Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee addressed his assertions with skepticism.

In response to Kishor’s prediction that the BJP could emerge as the leading party in West Bengal in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Banerjee clarified that Kishor is not actively involved with TMC’s strategies.

She stated while talking to TV9 Bengali, “Prashant Kishor is not working for TMC. He’s working with TDP-BJP in Andhra. Currently, Pratik and his team are working for us. Definitely, Kishor has some issues, that’s why he’s speaking in BJP’s tune.”

Kishor, known for his pivotal role in TMC’s remarkable victory in West Bengal, had announced his departure from political strategy after the state’s polls. Despite his statement of stepping away from the business of political strategist, his organisation is reportedly still working for political parties.

Kishor’s role as the poll strategist for TMC in the 2022 Goa elections ended in disappointment, with the Bengal-based party failing to secure any seats despite extensive campaigning, significant financial investment, and alliances with local parties.

Kishor’s political journey spans across various parties, including BJP, JD(U), INC, AAP, YSRCP, DMK, and TMC. He gained prominence for his contributions to Narendra Modi’s re-election campaign as Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2012 and later for his role in BJP’s landslide victory in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

After claiming to leave the role of helping political parties in winning elections, he was reportedly in touch with the Congress for a leadership role and when that was not materialised, he went to Bihar and started a movement called Jan Suraaj and still active in it.
