Sudden Layoffs: Around 120 India Today Employees Asked To Resign With No Prior Notice
New Delhi: Citing restructuring and financial pressure, India Today group has reportedly fired more than 120 employees overnight. The sudden layoff of the company verticals includes from camera operations, video editing, graphics, fact-checking, the Data Intelligence Unit among others.
While most of the affected were from the Aaj Tak Hindi website team, the employees from the India Today English web team were also affected, News Laundry reported, quoting staff. Employees claimed that those who refused to resign were terminated, adding that those who resigned received two months’ full salary while those terminated are to receive two months’ basic salary.

Notably, staff recounted that some of them, who spent years on the website, were called by the manager and HR and informed of the resignation about an hour ago before their shift ended at the TV Today Network Limited office in Noida’s Sector 16. The HR already had his full-and-final settlement papers ready, stating that the move was linked to a restructuring exercise.
The employees were immediately asked to submit a resignation, and surrender their laptop and ID card.
