Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) pace ace Mitchell Starc delivered for his franchise when they needed it the most as he produced the ball of the season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 final against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
Banking on fine form after Qualifier 1, Starc delivered an absolute peach as the ball angled in to SRH opener Abhishek Sharma, drawing him forward and then nipping away awkwardly, clipping the outside of his off-stump. Soon after the dismissal, X was ablaze, with cricket fans appreciating the Australian legend for the delivery.

The Australia World Cup winner was roped in by KKR for a record fee of INR 24.75 crore. He has scalped 16 wickets in 14 matches for KKR in the IPL 2024 after a topsy-turvy start to his campaign.
“Sunrisers played here a couple of nights ago but it is a different wicket, it will be about adapting with the bat and ball, I think powerplay in both innings is going to be what shapes the game, we were on the better side of that in Ahmedabad and hopefully it is the same here, but we know in T20 cricket anything can happen,” Starc said ahead of the match.
