Nicolas Keenan is one among the 19 Argentines who will represent the Los Leones at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In addition to being one of the star players of the team, Keenan has grabbed the spotlight for his unexpected love story with a politician from the Netherlands.

The 27-year-old who plays for Hoofdklasse Kelin Zwitserland in the Netherlands is the partner of Rob Jetten, a Dutch politician and Deputy Prime Minister. Rob recently served as Parliamentary leader of the Democrats 66 in the House of Representatives and currently serves as the Netherlands Minister for Climate and Energy Policy.

The relationship between the public figures has gone viral on social media. Many netizens have come comparing the pair with the love story of two fictional stories, Headstopper and Red, White and Royal Blue.

After living several years in the Dutch soil, he met Jettan. Keenan came to the Hague after his great performance in the Junior Championship to play for the Dutch club that he still represents.

The couple after making their public appearances though had to face some criticism from the media. Keenan will be making his Olympic debut. His team has won the Pan American Youth Championship in Toronto 2016, and the Pan American Games in Lima 2019 and Santiago de Chile 2023.

Keenan has the mind set on the Olympics and his partner will be cheering for him from the Netherlands throughout the match.

The hockey team has its first match against Australia on Saturday. Their journey will continue in the group match and will face India, New Zealand, Ireland, and Belgium.
