Ace Indian shuttlers PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen will return to the court at the Artic Open 2024, at Vantaa Finland, on Tuesday after their Olympic challenge at Paris 2024.
The two-time Olympic medallist had a disappointing run as she was knocked out in the Round of 16 clash against People’s Republic of China’s He Bingjao while Sen created history at the Paris Games by becoming the first Indian men’s shuttler to feature in a medal match. He missed out on the bronze medal after a heavy against Malaysia’s Lee Jii Zia.
Sindhu will be making her first appearance under the tutelage of newly-appointed coaches — India’s Anoop Sridhar and the Republic of Korea’s Lee Soon Il. Malvika Bansod, Aakarshi Kashyap, and Unnati Hooda will be the other Indian shuttlers to feature in the women’s singles event.
Bansod will be eager to put her best foot forward after reaching the quarter-finals of the China Open Super 1000 recently.
