Indian champion shuttler PV Sindhu will tie the knot on December 22 in Udaipur with the ceremonies beginning on December 20. The two-time medallist will marry Hyderbad-based Venkata Datta Sai, an executive director at Posidex Technologies.

“The two families knew each other but it was only a month ago that everything was finalized. This was the only possible window as her schedule will be hectic from January,” PV Sindhu’s father, PV Ramana said while speaking to PTI.

Venkatta Datta Sai is an executive director at Posidex Technologies, whose new logo Sindhu was unveiled last month. Sai is the son of GT Venkateshwar Rao, managing director at Posidex Technologies who was also part of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS). He had completed his Diploma in Liberal Arts and Sciences/ Liberal Studies from the Foundation of Liberal and Management Education. He also completed his BBA in Accounting and Finance from Flame University, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in 2018. Then he earned his Master’s Degree in Data Science and Machine Learning from the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore.

Stating the reason for the sudden fixation of the date, Sindhu’s father said that the two families decided to have the marriage on December 22 and the reception will be held in Hyderabad on December 24.

Sindhu had recently ended a long title drought with a victory at the Syed Modi International in Lucknow on Sunday. She is indeed, regarded as one of India’s greatest athletes with five world championship medals, including a gold in 2019, besides her silver and bronze at the Olympic Games.

Moreover, she won back-to-back Olympic medals at Rio 2016 and Tokyo 2020 and achieved a career-highworld ranking of No. 2 in 2017.
PV Sindhu now ranks 18th in the badminton ranking, comprehensively beat 17-year-old compatriot Unnati Hooda 21-12, 21-9 in the women’s singles semi-finals of the BWF Super 300 tournament.

After reaching the finals on Sunday, she will next face the People’s Republic of China’s Wu Luo Yu, ranked 119th, in the final on Sunday.
