Prolific SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) batter Abhishek Sharma who played a pivotal role in guiding his franchise to their third Indian Premier League (IPL) final made a special request to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans.
“I know in Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have got a massive fan following here. I would request all the CSK fans to come and support us in the final,” Abhishek said in a video posted by IPL.
SRH will take on KKR in the IPL 2024 final at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday. The Hyderabad franchise won their only title in 2016 and have not been in the final for the last six years.
The two franchises had faced off in the IPL 2024 Qualifier 1, where KKR outwitted SRH by eight wickets at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. SRH will look to avenge their defeat in the IPL 2024 final.
Sharma starred with the bowl in the Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals as he cleaned up the opposition captain Sanju Samson and then removed impact substitute Shimron Hetmyer before adding two more catches to allow SRH clinch a 36-run victory over RR.
The SRH opener has been in top-form in the ongoing season as he has scored 482 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 207.75.
