Team India spin legend Harbhajan Singh, a part of Star Sports’ broadcast panel for the T20 World Cup 2024, lauded Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir’s effort in their seven-wicket victory against Canada in the Group A contest.
Amir returned figures of 2/13 to allow Pakistan to stay alive in the race to the Super 8. Following the match, Harbhajan interviewed Amir and credited him for his brilliant performance. However, the comments did not go well with the netizens as they dug up his old tweet, where he called Amir a ‘fixer’.
“You have been a champion bowler for Pakistan. There is a faith that whenever you have the ball in hand, you will help the team with three to four wickets,” Harbhajan said Amir after Pakistan’s win over Canada.
“Fixer ko sixer.. out of the park @iamamirofficial chal daffa ho ja,” Harbhajan had written in the tweet in which he posted the video of him hitting Amir for a match-winning six vs Pakistan in 2010 Asia Cup.
Amir did phadda with Harbhajan on twitter and then made harbhajan praise him on his face😭😭 what a guy amir. @harbhajan_singh have some shame lol two faced. https://t.co/dKTuBYns6s pic.twitter.com/3Rq6kvEt7N

Amir had made himself available for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 after announcing his decision to reverse his international retirement. He retired from all forms of international cricket in 2021 but has been a globetrotter in franchise T20 leagues across the world.
The 31-year-old was recently a part of the Pakistan Super League, representing the Quetta Gladiators, picking up 10 wickets in 9 matches at an economy rate of 8.41.
Prior to retiring from international cricket, Amir had played 50 T20Is for Pakistan, scalping 59 wickets at an economy of 7.02. He last played a T20I in August 2020 against England.
