Fans were delighted to see the sight of Williamson interacting with his former CEO after rain played spoilsport. The New Zealand batter had served the SRH franchise from 2015-22 in the lucrative tournament before joining his current franchise Gujarat Titans in 2023.
Following the washed out match, SRH became the third team to qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs behind Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals. The Hyderabad-franchise qualified with 15 points from 13 matches after seven wins and five losses.
Meanwhile, already eliminated Gujarat Titans finished their IPL 2024 campaign with 12 points from 14 matches at the eighth spot in the points table.
