India garners Gold and Silver medals in javelin throw in the Asian Games. It was Neeraj Chopra who is bringing home the gold medal in javelin throw. It was the “javelin star”s” fourth throw, which has covered 88.88m, aided him in bagging the much awaited gold medal for him. It is Kishore Jena, whose throw covered 87.54m, who is bringing silver medal to India.
During the game, Mr. Chopra was hit with controversy regarding his first throw, which appeared to be above 85 m and was not “counted”. The Olympics gold medalist was allowed to go for a re-throw after a long discussion among the officials, who agreed for the re-attempt by accepting the “technical glitch” on their side.
It is highly possible that India may go for a protest as Kishore Jena was also a victim of the said “technical glitch”. Mr. Jena was shown red flag while he was on his second throw. The red flag was shown on account of Mr. Jena crossing the throwing line, which he actually did not cross. It was again after a long discussion that he was shown the white flag to continue the game.
