Former India captain Virat Kohli has a massive fan following all around the world. Kohli never shies away from interacting with his fans who chant his name from the seats of the stadium. A testament to his wide fan following was evident in the 2nd T20 against Afghanistan at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.
In the match where Kohli made a return to T20 cricket for the first time since November 2022, when Team India was humbled by a 10-wicket loss against England in the 2023 T20 World Cup semi-finals, a slight disruption was caused by a fan who found his way to the ground and touched his feet before hugging him.
The fan was quickly removed by the ground staff as Kohli was heard telling them, “”aaram se” (to take it easy).

As per media reports, the fan was detained by the Madhya Pradesh police as he was taken to the Tukoganj police station. A police official stated that the fan had a ticket for the match and made his way to the ground through the Narendra Hirwani Gate. There will be further steps taken in the matter after interrogation.
Meanwhile, a profile on X, with the handle @sigma__male_, posted the pitch invasion video and claimed that he was the person. He has a display picture of Kohli on his profile and claimed the invasion to be the “biggest achievement of his life”.
