Former England captain and pundit Naseer Hussain has come down hard at opener Ben Duckett for taking credit of Yashasvi Jaiswal”s brilliant batting display.

Jaiswal is the most runs scorer in the ongoing series with two double centuries, registering his highest score of 214* in the third Test to allow Team India to clinch a mammoth 434 runs win. It was also India’s biggest win in a Test by the margin.

“When you see players from the opposition playing like that, it almost feels like we should take some credit that they’re playing differently than how other people play Test cricket,” Duckett said.

Hussain did not take Jaiswal”s comments lightly and backed Jaiswal for learning through his experiences in life and the IPL.

“The comment on Jaiswal that he has learned from us, I am going to touch on that. He has not learned from you, he has learned from his upbringing and all the hard yards he has put in while growing up, he has learned from the IPL. If anything, I would look at him and learn from him,” Hussain told Michael Atherton on the Sky Sports podcast.

Jaiswal averages over 71 in the longest format with three centuries and as two half-centuries to his name. He will be a crucial part for the hosts in the five-Test series, which they lead 2-1. The fourth Test will get underway in Ranchi from Friday.
