India’s Champions Trophy Win: Tanya Chaudhari’s Promise And The Twist
India secured the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 title with a four-wicket victory over New Zealand in Dubai on Sunday. Chasing 252 set by the black caps, India reached 254/6 with an over to spare, as KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja guided them home after early setbacks.
As over a billion were rejoicing the spectacular win by the men in blue, something interesting was attracting many people’s attention online. An X handle named TanyaChaudhari made a promise to netizens on the context of if India is winning the coveted trophy.
“If India wins the #ChampionsTrophyFinal today, I’ll post my n*des…Cheer up!!,” Tanya Chaudhari who introduces herself as a model, influencer and actress wrote on X.
After India won in Dubai, there is a twist in the tale.
After the match, she came up with another update: “I am ready & with the consent of the team, will definitely fulfill my promise. But as far as posing nude is concerned, I would need BCCI permission. I was still willing to do it in a private setting but could not post publicly due to legal issues.”
Earlier, India openers Rohit Sharma (76) and Shubman Gill (31) set a strong foundation with a 105-run stand. However, Glenn Phillips’ spectacular catch and Michael Bracewell’s breakthroughs put pressure on India. Shreyas Iyer (48) and Hardik Pandya (18) contributed, but it was Rahul and Jadeja who ensured victory.
Earlier, India’s spinners dominated and restricted New Zealand to 251/7. Varun Chakaravarthy and Kuldeep Yadav claimed two wickets each, slowing the run rate. Daryl Mitchell’s 63 and Michael Bracewell’s late surge (50*) gave the Black Caps a fighting total.
With this triumph, India remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, adding another ICC title to their illustrious record.
