The Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is nominated for the ICC player of the month award for October 2023, recognizing his stupendous performance in the world cup campaign. The nominees also include South African opener Quniton de Kock and emerging star from New Zealand Rachin Ravindra.

Jasprit Bumrah has emerged into a sensational player fully live with cricketing actions. He played a major role in contributing to India’s unbeaten streak in the world cup campaign. His outstanding performance included taking major wickets in the match against Australia, Afghanistan and arch-rival Pakistan. The Indian speedster claimed 14 wickets in total with an impressive average of 15.07.

Bumrah began his master play by taking down two wickets for 35 runs against Australia in Chennai and the rest was history. Bumrah is expected to play pivotal role in India’s upcoming matches.

He has shown his ability to smash wickets even under pressure. His performance in the World Cup is notable. Bumrah has the ability to put the opposition batters under pressure and turn over the match into India’s favour. He has now emerged as one of the leading fast bowlers in international cricket.

Meanwhile, De Kock despite announcing his retirement after the World Cup campaign, his impact in the matches was unbelievably outstanding. He kicked off his campaign with back-to-back centuries in the matches against Sri Lanka and Australia. But his notable performance came in the match against Bangladesh where he made massive score of 174.  In October, in total he has made 431 runs at an impressive average of 71.83.

Rachin Ravindra is noted as an emerging star of New Zealand. Though he had only appeared in 13 ODIs before the tournament. His remarkable performance came in the opening match against England. He scored 123 runs off 96 balls. He continued his fine form throughout the campaign. In October, he scored a total of 406 runs with an average of 81.20.
